mom: I'm almost done with the 'Shadow Children' sequence (her word, not mine) by Margaret Haddix, and also finally started reading the 'Lord of the Rings' series. I have to say I'm finding Tolkien a little dry. And the "Among the ..." books are great stories that you have to keep reading, plus they really get you thinking.
