Family Hike to Multnomah Falls

Friday morning we drove to the other side of Portland to hike to the top of Multnomah Falls. About a mile and a quarter up, and pretty steep, so it was great as the beginning of a family 'get in shape for next summer's Trek' plan. Rebekah, Michael and Jacob took turns pushing Nathan, for extra training:) Relatively dry weather, which was an unexpected bonus!

Nathan: got to ride in the 'bike stroller' all the way up (it was blacktop, but the path got a little narrow sometimes). He was excited to get out at the top for pictures, and to get a water bottle of his own, but then he slept most of the way down:P

Daniel: It was muddy. It was fun. I ran all the way up, and almost all the way down. (he rode piggyback towards the bottom, more because he was cold than tired)

Joseph: I liked it. It was very long.

Caleb: it was cold and extremely long.

Beth: It was cold and wet and windy.

Jacob: it was fun and cool and cold.

Michael: uphill, cool, wet, but not too long

Rebekah:

mom: There were LOTS of other hikers, both small groups and large. A large family was passing us partway up, and were SO boggled and funny about the fact that we had more kids than they did (they had seven). They took this picture for us at the top (the sun was the wrong way to look out over the actual waterfall and the Columbia River--this is right before the water goes over).
